I decided to see a chiropractor when I was told that I probably had sciatica and a chiropractor can help. My back problem was explained to me so I really understood what was happening and I was able to get back to work sooner than what I would have otherwise.

A nerve irritation from the lower lumbar spine and/or muscular irritation can produce buttock pain, leg pain, tingling/numbness or weakness. We will find out why you have it and help to relieve the pain. Sometimes called sciatica, leg pain can be very debilitating. Sciatica is actually irritation of the sciatic nerve, which supplies a specific area of the leg – the muscles down the back of the leg and into the little toe of your foot.. There are other nerves in the leg that, if irritated can give pain in other parts of the leg. We need to examine you to ascertain if it is nerve pain or muscular referred pain and where it is coming from, before we start to treat you.
When you irritate a joint or the tissues around a joint, particularly in your back, your muscles can go into a spasm to try to stop the area from moving and further irritating the problem. Spasms can be very painful. If you call the clinic we will give you the best advice to help you to cope with the spasms while they are occurring depending on your problem.

Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat the root cause of your pain. We can also refer you for cutting edge diagnostic muscuolskeletal ultrasound if required. We will also look at the mechanics which can be improved with stretching, strengthening and maybe even advising you to wear orthotics because the way the feet transmit forces to your knees and hips makes this area very significant, particularly in athletes. We can often help the pain of plantar fasciitis – pain under your foot.
Recurrent problems that just keep coming back
